Keep receipt of payment for the RM150 you made. I don't think JPJ will inform you of the payment. As to whether demerit points will be given for your offenses or otherwise, I am uncertain. Hopefully, your license will not be revoked.

All other queries raised by your appear correct. 30th Nov 2010 is the commencement of paying unsettled traffic offenses at 50% discount, then 30% discount thereafter.

Ops Sikap normally conducted during festive occasions such as Hari Raya, Chinese New Year, etc. You cannot appeal for offences committed during such periods. Your thanks are much appreciated.

Cikgu Yap,

Good day.

I am a Filipino IT consultant with a P-license and have been working here in Malaysia for more than 5 years now.

I obtained my P-license last year on the 12th of November 2009.

Some 2 hours ago (as of this writing it is the 12th of December 2010) I found out via MYEG that I had a summons.

The summons was dated 3rd of December 2010 for speeding and had a fine of 300RM.

There was also a note that if I paid within 15 days, I would pay half which is 150RM.

I have now paid the amount of 150RM online and am awaiting a call from JPJ (?) as I read somewhere on the MYEG page that I would be contacted with regards to the veracity of my payment transaction.

I have several things I hope I can get some clarification on:

1. The fine on my speeding offence is 300RM which, if my interpretation of the kejara system is correct, is because I have exceeded 40km/h. Am I correct?

2. If it is correct then that means I will be getting 10 demerit points … and hence am in danger of getting my license revoked.

I have checked exactly how much demerit points I have sofar via the link below … but all I get is zero points:

      http://translate.google.com.my/translate?hl=en&sl=ms&u=http://www.jpj.gov.my/online/kejara.shtml&ei=-sgDTZmwMofrrQfovv2QDw&sa=X&oi=translate&ct=result&resnum=2&ved=0CCMQ7gEwAQ&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dsistem%2Bkejara%2Bjpj%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dsafari%26rls%3Den%26prmd%3Div

I assume it is because I have only paid my summons now; given that it is a sunday today, and that it may take a couple of days to process as the payment was done online, my demerit points will only be assigned after a record has been created in the Putrajaya JPJ Headquarters … which could be sometime next week.

Once points will be assigned, my 2nd question is:

Will JPJ straightaway revoke my license as I have already 10 demerit points from this single summons?

3. Lastly, I was reading your blog post in the link below:

   http://driving-school.com.my/demerit-system/punishment-of-the-demerit-system/

   It mentions that:

Drivers belonging to the “P” category and the C.D.L holders (experienced drivers) will have action taken against them:

      a) when P drivers attain 10 Demerits Points WITHIN 1 YEAR.

This "WITHING 1 YEAR" pertains to what period exactly?

As it has been more than 1 year since I last got my P-license on 12th of November 2009 and my offense recorded on the 3rd of December 2010.

I am trying to reconcile the "WITHIN 1 YEAR" statement and how it impacts my current predicament.

I have some other questions regarding the statement from the summons page from MYEG:

”
ANNOUNCEMENT FROM PDRM:

2.)ALL SUMMONS ISSUED AFTER 30 November 2010 INCENTIVES WILL BE GIVEN AS FOLLOW CONDITION:
- Summons paid within 15 days will be given incentives – 50% off from the compound rates.
- Summons paid within 16 – 30 days will be given incentives – 30% off from the compound rates.
- Summons will be blacklisted and maximum compound will be impose for summons which is not settle within 30 days.
”

The date mentioned (30 November 2010), what is this date all about? Was there a change/update in JPJ rules or in the Kejara System recently?

Also,
”
a) Notices appeal not applicable as follows:
- All notices issued during Ops Sikap.
- All notices for traffic light offense.
- All notices for accident cases.
- All notices that have warrant of arrest.
”

What is “Ops Sikap”? Does this mean that I can appeal my offence?

My apologies for the numerous questions. This is my first driving offence and am getting a bit worried… I was texting some of my friends here about this but given that it is past 4 in the morning I don’t expect to be getting any reply soon.

Anyway, thank you very much for your time.

Respectfully awaiting your reply,
Ranku

Pay up the RM300 soon. As your offense seems trivial, I doubt if demerit points will be awarded.

Hi Cikgu Yap,

I visited myeg today and found that i have a summon dating back to 2004 because one of the letters on my car's number plate was missing. I totally forgot about it and now the fine is RM300. I was wondering if you knew how many demerit points will they give me if I do not pay by February 2011?

Thanks in advance!

Give the nature of your summons/ Usually, demerit points are deducted a few months, years even after the summon takes place.
