Your instructor should explain to you the steps well. My instructions would only make you further confused.

Hi Cikgu Yap

I would like to ask you about how to make a car go down a hill after I managed to make it stop uphill? I understand about balancing the clutch and accelerator but can you please explain it to me in detail? How would we exactly know when to pull down the hand break to make the car go downhill?

Thanks a lot Cikgu Yap.. That gave me lot of relief.
Could you also kindly suggest which method discribed in my earlier query , should I follow whilst starting the vehicle.

Thanks

Hi Cikgu Yap

I have completed driving coruse and have purchased a new vehical also. Whilst starting the vehicle my instructor has taught me the procedure to start the car
1. After switching on the car press full clutch
2. Engage engine in 1st Gear
3. Release the clutch (almost 50% – I am not sure if it is a half clutch methid) until vibrations are felt on steering
4. The car will start moving forward
5. Then release the full clutch and then apply accelarator

I have read on the internet that if I follow this procedure it will damage the clutch plate in long term. The correct method populated on internet is whilst releasing clutch apply accelarator slowly. I tried this method however many times ended up with the car stalling.

I am bit confuse. Could you kindly suggest me which is the best method out of these 2.
And if I follow the first procedure will the clutch plate damage ?

Thanks

Ideally, the steps are:
1) Signal first.
2) 20 - 30 meter from junction, slow down.
3) Leave up clutch slowly.
4) Near place of cornering, enter gear 2.
5) Negotiate corner.
Always remember to change down to lower gears before cornering.

Dear Sir,

May I knw the proper procedure when I wan to turn into a road from speed 60kmlhr or Gear 4 (For example L road)?I am very confusing on it... Should I 1. Open signal, 2. then clutch and brake, 3.Change to Gear 3 and then Gear 2? Can I change to Gear 2 only when I m inside the L road(After I have turning the steering)?.. or must I change to Gear 2 before I turn the steering/enter the road?
