See the department that summoned you. Explain to them about you problem. Appeal for them to impose upon you whatever penalty they would like to impose. Pay up the fines required and settle the problem once and for all.

I got a summon where my road tax was expired and I was summoned to appear at court on 4th June 2012, I forgot about it, till today (due to funeral activities at home)…Now the court date has already passed, what should I do?
