The simple fact is they do not know how to drive properly. It is not surprising that the newspapers here carry daily stories about deaths caused by terrible driving. My observations are as follows, the worst drivers are bus and truck drivers, followed by taxi and police car drivers and then of course the everyday drivers. Reasonably safe at driving but still not good enough, ambulance drivers and driving instructors. Having read this information about obtaining a driving document in Malaysia and the related driver training I now understand why Malaysians drive so dangerously, thoughtlesly and with zero respect to other road users. The simple fact is they do not know how to drive properly. It is not surprising that the newspapers here carry daily stories about deaths caused by terrible driving.
