With government deduction of taxes, hybrid cars are now affordable. Correct, diesel vehicles provide good mileage.

The Prius, being the only other common hybrid is roughly 130k, which is pricey but isn’t that much more than a Camry or Accord.

If going for fuel consumption, diesels are the way to go. The cheapest decent diesel would be the Focus TDCi, and on our own tests it can go around 800 km reasonably on one tank of diesel.

Hybrid cars indeed are quite highly priced presently.
