Though Malaysian license can be used in South Africa, always best to get IDL. Please advise you mum so. IDL valid internationally.

I have just got my Malaysian Driving License and I am working in South Africa for 2 years. I would like to know if I would need to get a IDL for driving in SA? My mum is also coming to SA and currently she is still in Malaysia. She will defintely apply for an IDL in Malaysia. Is the IDL valid internationally?

I was supposed to sit for JPJ on 14th of June but they postponed to 28th of June saying the agent quota is full, then again postponed to 5th of July due to their documentation mistake. Now they said they have scheduled to 12th of July which I’m not certain about . Due to the above mentioned reasons I just want to know if there is any way i could get the license sooner without bothering Metro.
