Many people do not know, the company Touch N Go has stopped selling the Smart Tag device used to automatically pay for your toll fee on all major highways in Malaysia back in 8th August 2018.

In a post published on the 8th August 2018 on the web portal Says.com:

Touch ‘n Go recently announced that it has ceased the sale of SmartTAGS and will soon replace it with Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) stickers

In the post, it explained the main reason why Touch N Go company decided to stop selling the Smart Tag device.

The reason is to replace the Smart Tag with Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) stickers for automatic toll payment on the highways.

What is RFID system?

RFID technology is quite unique. It uses a sticker or tag fitted with a tiny RFID chip which is to be placed on the vehicle. Usually, the sticker will be adhered on the vehicle head lamp.

With RFID, toll payment can be done automatically when you reach the toll gate and the money reload can be done using the Touch ‘n Go application on your smartphone.

Personally, I am so confident on the effectiveness of using the RFID system for toll payment on the highway.

Many times I have seen cars going in the special lanes for RFID payment having to stop and reverse their car because it failed to initiate the auto payment and the toll gate did not open.

I still prefer to use my Touch N Go card to pay the toll on highways.

Lately, my wife asked me whether there is another way to pay toll without having to wind down the car window.

She has gotten sick and tired of getting herself and the inside of her car wet when she has to pay toll with her Touch N Go card during rainy days.

Other than the RIFD sticker, is there an alternative solution?

The obvious solution is using the Smart Tag but the Touch N Go company has stopped selling the device.

I have read a comments on Facebook saying that the Smart Tag are being sold at selected Petronas petrol station.

Which Petronas station is still selling the Smart Tag?

I have been to a few Petronas station in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to enquire about the Smart Tag device. However, none of the stations are selling it.

When I wasn’t able to find a new Smart Tag in the market, I’ve actually tried searching for second hand device.

I’ve actually found a few people on Facebook who are willing to sell their used Smart Tag device, but in the end I did not purchase from them because I wasn’t sure about its condition.

An alternative to Smart Tag

Luckily, I found an alternative to the Smart Tag device available in the market.

The device brand name is Max Tag.

I actually found the MaxTag device selling online on Lazada Malaysia.

The Max Tag unit selling price is also not very expensive and reasonably priced. The selling price for one unit is less than RM300.

On Lazada, it has more than 800 4 stars rating! That is a good social proof that the device is legit and many people are buying it.

From my research, I know that there are many features on the Max Tag.

But the main function of the device is that it has to be able to use the existing Touch N Go card and be able to pay toll automatically just like a Smart Tag.

How would I know a Max Tag device can be used to pay toll?

Well the only way to know for sure is to buy a unit of Max Tag and install it on my wife’s Perodua Myvi.

That was exactly what I did and I wrote about my experience with the Max Tag below.

Driving into the Smart Tag lane, as I approach the toll gate, there was a beep and the toll gate opened automatically.

I can see the toll fee was deducted from by Touch N Go card.

Di manakah boleh kita membeli carpet kereta dengan harga yang murah dan terbaik di Malaysia?

Bolehkah kita memilih custom karpet untuk lantai kereta?

Di artikal ini, saya ingin berkongsi pengalaman saya membeli karpet getah baru untuk kereta Toyota Vios saya.

Karpet kereta tersebut adalah jenis DIY ataupun Do It Yourself yang saya telah gunakan untuk tukar mat kereta saya dan kereta Perodua Myvi isteri saya.

Di manakah saya membeli custom karpet untuk kereta tersebut?

Saya membelinya di laman Lazada Malaysia.

Karpet untuk kereta yang terbaik

Sebenarnya, sebelum saya membeli carpet kereta di Lazada, saya telahpun membuat survey di beberapa kedai aksesori di kawasan Lembah Kelang, Kuala Lumpur dan Shah Alam.

Kebanyakan carpet yang di jual harganya agak mahal. Lagipun, kedai aksesori kereta ada caj upah untuk memotong dan pasang carpet tersebut ke dalam kereta saya.

Oleh itu, saya telah membuat keputusan untuk membeli karpet getah kereta secara online.

Berapakah harga jualan carpet kereta tersebut?

Harga seunit adalah kurang daripada RM60.00.

Carpet kereta yang saya pilih di Lazada adalah jenis DIY yang ketebalannya ialah 18 mm. Lebarnya adalah 60 cm dan panjangnya adalah 300 cm ataupun 3 meter.

Lebih-lebih lagi, karpet kereta tersebut terdapat dalam beberapa warna seperti, hitam, merah, hijau, ungu dan sebagainya.

Offer carpet getah kereta di Lazada yang saya jumpai mempunyai lebih 350 rating dan kebanyakannya adalah 4 – 5 bintang.

Oleh itu, saya telah membuat keputusan untuk membeli 2 set carpet kereta dari penjual tersebut.

Saya membeli 2 set warna hitam untuk kereta Vios and 2 set warna merah untuk Myvi isteri saya.

Premium croissant to be exact.

The above is a picture of the box of Arissto premium bakery I ordered from Lazada.

The Arissto Bakery was recommended to me by my sister-in-law.

She told me it was one of the best pastry she has ever had.

Really?

What’s all the hype?

It’s just pastry.

My sister-in-law told me the croissant from Arissto has a crispy outer layer and soft inner layer.

OK, I’ll try it.

I want to let my kids try them because they love pastry.

It is the ingredients of the pastry.

I have been accumulating a couple of Lazada vouchers because I have been doing a lot of online shopping due to the lockdown.

Above is a picture of the unboxing.

Before you consume the croissant, it is recommended to put it in the oven for 5 – 7 mins at 200° Celsius.

You can also pan fry it at medium to high heat for 5 mins.

If you have an air fryer, you can air fry it for 3 – 4 mins at 160° Celsius.

I decided to put the croissant in the oven because it is the easiest without any need for clean up.

What was the verdict?

Well, both my daughters absolutely love the Black gold croissant.

When I cut the croissant in half, the hot chocolate filling oozes out.

It’s a real treat for them.

In fact, they were fighting over who should have the last piece.

So it is fair to say, my kids love the Arissto pastries.

In this article, I thought of doing a quick review of a 1:32 scale Honda Civic Type R diecast model toy car I bought on Lazada Malaysia.

The picture above is a front view of the Black Honda Civic Type R on a display platform.

What was the reason I bought the diecast car?

Well, I’m a fan of the Honda Civic Type R EP3, FK8 and the FN2.

Above is the back view of the Type R.

Size wise, the car is 6 cm wide, 14.8 cm long and 5 cm in height.

As expected, the unit is made of die-cast metal body with plastic parts.

Above is the unit on its display platform.

What I really like about the unit is the car engine hood and the truck which can be opened.

All the side doors can also be opened.

As you can see in the picture above, the Honda Civic Type R diecast engine detailing is very nice and sharp.

All the car doors of the car unit can be opened and the interior detailing is very nice.

Engine hood can also be opened.

Seats detailing inside the car is very nice as well.

The tyres on the wheel of the Honda Civic Type R diecast is actually made of rubber. The back wheel also has pullback function.

As an added bonus, both the headlamps and brake lamps can be lit up.

What are the colours available?

Personally, I’ve chosen the black colour.

There are other colours such as white, red and blue as well available from the seller on Lazada.

Buying The Autumnz 2 in 1 Baby Food Processor

When my first daughter reached the age where she can start eating solid food, my wife told me we need to start feeding her food puree.

The food puree of our choice was fresh steamed vegetables and fresh fruits.

At first, we gave our daughter store bought baby food puree.

It was great. Simple, clean, fast and no cleaning up.

But after a while, I’ve started adding up all the cost of buy the bottled food puree and I realised those things are darn expensive.

So what’s the solution?

Obviously, blend the baby food at home with a food processor.

My wife didn’t want to use our regular kitchen food processor. She wanted a food processor dedicated only for our daughter.

So I started searching on Lazada Malaysia for a baby food processor.

My Baby Food Processor Criteria

As a daddy, I wanted a food processor which is easy to use and easy to clean.

I decided to go with the Autumnz brand. I bought their home and car bottle warmer before and I know they make good product.

At Lazada, I found the Autumnz 2-in-1 baby food processor. Apparently it can steam and blend all sort of fresh food.

I decided to give it a try.

At the time of writing this review, the unit costs RM172.90.

The price is within my budget and I got the product delivered within 2 working days.

So how does the Autumnz 2-in-1 baby food processor performed?

As a food processor, it does a pretty good job.

The food puree is nice and smooth.

Cleaning is pretty easy too. The plastic unit and metal blade are quite easy to detach.

I just use the brush to clean baby bottles to clean them over running water.

I use the same baby bottle cleaning liquid to clean the food processor parts. Simple and fast washing.

Was it a good purchase?

I’ll give the Autumnz 2-in-1 baby food processor 4 Stars for practicality and 4 Stars for price.

My Honest Review of the Elmark Bee Fan 36″ from Lazada Malaysia

Recently, I bought the Elmark Bee Fan 36″ from Lazada Malaysia.

The truth is, I actually saw the Elmark Bee Fan on display in an electrical shop in Kepong.

The Bee Fan on display in the electrical shop was selling at RM550. I didn’t buy from the shop that time because my daughter’s room renovation is not done yet.

Furthermore, the shop assistant wasn’t very friendly and I decided not to make the purchase.

Installing the Elmark Bee Fan

When I saw that Lazada Malaysia was selling the same fan and at a cheaper price, I was pretty happy.

I bought the black colour Bee Fan model for RM459 inclusive of delivery.

Since it was from a local supplier, I got my Elmark fan delivered within 2 days.

Generally, the fan installation was pretty simple.

Well, you’ll need 2 person for the job. One person to hold the fan and another person to lock in the nut on the ceiling fan hook.

Wiring is pretty simple also…but if you don’t have any knowledge on wiring works, I’ll suggest you hire an electrician to do the wiring for you.

What Is My Verdict?

For a ceiling with short blades, it is pretty powerful!

At the lowest fan speed, it feels quite cooling in the room.

What I am impressed most is the LED lights on the fan. At the white light setting, it is enough to illuminate the entire room.

As with the remote control, it is very easy to use. Just press the On or Off button and select the fan speed.

All in all, I will give the Elmark Bee Fan 4 Stars for practicality and 4 Stars for cost.
