Why do people need a driving refresh course?
From our experience, many Malaysian secured their license but did not drive for a long time. Some may had accident in their early days of driving and that has affected their confidence on the road.
After some time, due to changes in priorities, they are required to overcome their fears and sit behind the steering wheel again.
For foreigners living in Malaysia, they may need refresher lessons because they are not familiar with the traffic rules and regulation in Malaysia. Some may only need a person to guide them around the streets of Kuala Lumpur.
Before you take up a driving refresher course, your license has to be VALID. If it has expired, you’ll need to renew it first.

I converted my license already to a Malay one, but unluckily they only convert B2 and D. Is it true, that I have to repeat the driving school for the full B? If yes, can you help me to do so? Hi,I’ve got my L license renewed and Im told to get a driving school in order to get back my driving license which had expired for more than 3 years! I failed to renew it previously as I had a summon that I didn’t realize And my license was black listed! I’ve done e-rayuan online too and the result shall reveal on 27/4/15,I’ve got an information of to take up 2 hours driving course prior to the test, is that true?

I got my driving license when I was 17 but I have not drove since then after a bad accident. I am not very good in driving before this as my driving instructor didn’t really teach properly. I don’t think I have the courage to drive now so I want to take lessons to improve on that.
Can you please help to introduce a driving instructor who is patient enough and reliable to slowly teach driving and parking and has an auto car for the lessons as I currently don’t own a car in Kuala Lumpur. I intend to only buy the car once I am confident enough to drive. I have lessons before with a driving instructor but he was very impatient and at the end of the day he just told me not to drive anymore. Hope you can help me in this matter.

Hi Mr Yap, I have not driven for almost 10 years. Still got a valid license. After few failed attempts the past 5-6 years, I’ve lost the confidence to try, as every time I do try, I get very nervous and feel like I’m not capable.

I am not sure if this refresher course is still available since the last comment dates back to 2016. I completed my car and motorbike license around 18 on the first attempt but driven a car since and it has been over 18 years. Had a motorbike accident around 20, didnt ride anymore until 2014 for 640km and stopped again. I have lived overseas for most of my adult life and since I am back in KL, I will like to be good at driving here. I have no confidence driving in KL.
