L.D.L. bererti dalam Bahasa Inggeris “Learner Driver’s License”.
Untuk belajar memandu, seseorang calon perlu mendapatkan lesen tersebut.
Pelajar-pelajar katahui lesen ini sebagai lesen “L”.
Untuk menunggang motorsikal kelas B2 (-250 cc), anda haruslah 16 tahun sekurang-kurangnya.
Kalau hendak membawa motor B Penuh (500+ cc), anda harusnya 21 ke atas.
Anda juga semestinya 21 tahun ke atas sekiranya hendak membawa kenderaan besar umpamanya lori, trektor dan treler.
Pihak kerajaan kini dalam usaha menurunkan harga bayaran lesen motor dari RM20 ke RM2 saja.
Berita mengatakan harga baru ini akan di turunkan berkuat kuasa 1 September 2009.
Sekiranya hendak mengeluarkan lesen “L”, anda hendak bekalkan institut atau sekolah memandu dengan butir-butir apa?
Bekalkan:
1) 1 salinan MyKad 2 belah.
2) 2 keping gambar berwarna.
3) Keputusan atau sijil undang-undang Kod Jalanraya.
4) Sijil JPJ L2B keluaran institute.
5) Bayaran lesen (RM20 motor) dan (RM30 bagi kelas-kelas lain).
Tempoh lesen L
Berapa lamakah tempoh lesen L?
Tempoh lesen L adalah 3 bulan atau pun 6 bulan.
Lesen L hanya boleh di perbarui untuk maksimum 2 tahun sahaja.
Memang benar lesen “L” di anggap sebagai lesen sementara.
Tetapi, jangan sewenag-wenang melanggar peraturan jalanraya.
Anda boleh kena saman seperti jenis lesen lain juga.
Sewaktu menunggang motorsikal berplet “L”, bawalah lesen “L” bersama.
Semasa belajar memandu kereta dengan instructor ataupun pengajar, bawalah “L” bersama juga.
Di ingatkan motor berplet “L tidak di izinkan membawa pemboncit di belakang.
Bawa juga lesen “L” apabila buat Q.T.I. atau Ujian Pra dengan pegawai-pegawai institut.
Semasa hendak memohon ujian, tidak kira apa jenis pun, salinan “L” hendak juga di kepilkan bersama Borang 4 serta borang-borang lain.
Sekiranya kurang faham, tanyalah instructor anda.
“L” juga hendak di bawa bersama semasa hari ujian Praktikal anda.
Pastikan tempoh masa “L” anda tidak luput atau pun mati.
Tidak membawa “L” semada ujian, sudah pasti anda tidak di benarkan menguji.
Selepas habis ujian praktikal, pastikan anda dapatkan kembali lesen “L” dari tangan penguji.
Sekiranya anda berjaya, bekalkan butir-butir di bawah ini kepada institut atau sekolah memandu anda:
1) Borang JPJ L2B (kad ujian).
2) 2 keping gambar warna berukuran paspot.
3) Kepingan fotostat MyKad 2 belah.
4) Bayaran “P” untuk 2 tahun (RM60).
5) Bayaran upah proses (RM2 – RM5).
Inilah artikal serba ringkas L.D.L. atau “L” permulaan hingga ke hujung anda belajar, sama ada kereta ataupun motorsikal di institut atau sekolah memandu.
Walaupun sudah mencapai “P”, simpanlah “L” dengan baik. Manalah tahu, semasa hilang “P” kelak, ia boleh di buat rujukan!

Maaf, penjelasan saya olah buat anda kepala pening. Memang benar kerajaan baru-baru ini telah mengarahkan institut memandu supaya turunkan kos ambil lesen motor B2 kepada RM201 saja.
Bagaimanapun, harga di atas tidak termasuk servis caj pihak sekolah memandu lagi. Paling elok, cari sebuah sekolah memandu dan bincang dengannya masalah anda.
oh tidak mengapa cikgu, oh RM201 tidak termasuk caj2 lain ya..

“L” normally last s 3 months from date license issued. If “L” expired, no you can’t sit for J.P.J. practical test.

I’m a holder of Class D and B-Full ‘L’ license. I’ve held my B-Full ‘L’ license for almost 20 months now. Planning to take my ‘P’ test very soon. I’ve attended 2 hours of compulsory learning to-date.
Can I take the QTI followed by the JPJ test without having to complete a full 8-hour learning? Is there any provision to allow this? e.g recommendation by instructor, etc.

In most cases, a student is advised to undergo a minimum of 4 hours training. However, this requirement varies from institutes to institutes. I suggest you talk to the institute people regarding your problem.

Contact the office where your instructor is attached. From the computer records, a new copy of SM4 can be made. With this, only then can you test.

Up to now i already did 6hour of practical driving but until now i havent really saw or requested to sign sm4 form. Is it something unusual?
At the same time, i also havent really saw my L license. As a paying student, do i have right to request to keep the L license?
Currently i am trap within a unsatisfying instructor and institute, they rushing me to QTI in few weeks even before i am totally prepared and finish all my driving hours. I have thought of insisting my right but i afraid a serious argument will make me trapped even more.
If i were to consider changing institute, which steps should i take? what document i should insist on getting? what extra cost would be incurred?

Normally SM4 to be signed during pra ujian. Yes, you can request to see / keep your “L”. Request politely that your driving school / institutes teach at a pace you wish/ Ask them not to rush you.
When you with to change driving school / institute, ask for things belonging to you:
i) KPP certificate (JPJL2A)
ii) “L” license
iii) SM4
iv) 6 hour theory certificate (JPJL2B)
v) Calculate number of times you have learnt
Discuss with the driving school proprietor regarding all of the above. My suggestion is, reach an amicable understanding.

Yes, you should keep your L license not the instructor. My case is same as yours. I’m looking for a new instructor now and he was holding my L license. But I got it back this morning, by creating story that I doubt my IC was written wrong, then he showed. So I tell him I WILL HOLD the L license ^0^, and tell him that I will be away for weeks and stop for the lessons, while I’m trying to finish lesson and get the driving license in the shortest time.
As long as I have my L license and the e-driving card, never thought of what sm4 form. I will get advise from the new instructor. No need to make a mess with them, you are the one who paid for this driving lesson, you have the right to change teacher if he is incapable.
By the way, Cikgu Yap, any good recommendation to good instructor???

Your Singapore license can be converted back to Malaysian license. Yes, you can change it for 5 years. Previous Malaysian license will automatically be null and void when you obtained a Singapore license.

Usually, after paying RM70, your “P” will be processed. It would need a few days to get it ready.
After passing a D license, you are exempted from further undang-undang test. You need not repeat the test.
“L” license for B2 is RM20.
Institutes teach B2 motor lessons. Each lesson lasts 1 hour.
Motor and car license is RM30 per year. If you have only a car license, its also RM30 too.

Ideally, take your “L” along. Also your Borang 4 too. And your certificates JPJ L2A and JPJ L2B also.

Kiranya ada sekolah memandu yang membantu anda, tentu ianya dapat nasihatkan anda. Undang-undang motor and boleh tahan 2 tahun saja. Nampaknya, undang-undang anda telahpun luput. L anda dah tidah boleh di baharui lagi. Anda harus hadir balik kursus 5 jam. Kemudian duduk balik dan lulus undang-undang sekali lagi baru boleh keluarkan L yang baru.

I apply a package from a driving school without doing much research about the price, it’s too expensive for me comparing to what others offer. I already took the KPP course, and already paid RM100 during registration. However I have not taken my JPJL2A certificate yet.
It is my own fault that I accept their offer right away, but should I want to change to another institution, what should I do? If I am able to get the certificate, am I able to use it to proceed the workshop theory and practical (pre L)?

In the future, always check prices before committing yourself. The RM100 you’ve paid nearly covers your 5 hour KPP course.
If you should decide to switch driving school, you should do the following:
1) Try to get your JPJ L2A certificate.
2) If you can’t, do not worry. Probably your name would be keyed into the computer system of privately owned test centres across towns.
3) You can still register for Highway Code test anyway.
4) You can only proceed to the 6 hour theory course if you pass (3) above.

Kursus motor yand di luluskan kerajaan berjumlah RM201. Tetapi sekolah memandu / institut layak meletakkan wang servis. Anda harus tanya sekolah / institut caj mereka. Dapatkan lesen sebelum 12/7/2010, mission impossible!

cikgu, saye sudah ada lesen P kereta tapi tak sempat ambil P untuk motor. Kire L saye sudah expired 2 thun. So perlu ke saye hadir kelas ceramah 5 jam atau bole terus test P motor?
Kerana ada “P”kereta, hadir 6 jam teori motor. Kemudian keluar L baru untk B2 (motor) dan terus belajar motor sahaja.
hi teacher, my bahagian 1 LDL will expire on 12 sept 10, when i went to renew my LDL last month i got 3 month period from august 10 to november 10. so my question is my L still valid after 12 sept? if cant why i got renew then?
You can use your L til November 10. But your highway code expires on Sept 12. After the above date, you can no longer test your practical. You have to resit for the above highway code.
so what u mean is i cannot sit for the JPJ test after 12 sept? i have allready finished compulsory 8 hour training and will go for QTI tomorrow, but there is no available date for JPJ test before 12 sept. so if cannot sit for JPJ after 12 sept and have to resit highway code, does that mean i have do everything all over again? from KPP to QTI?
If your highway code expires on 12 Sept 2010, you cannot sit for your practical test by JPJ. You will have to attend the 5 hour KPP course again and sit for the highway code.

On your part, you have done everything that is to be done. You have even paid the full payment for your course. You can now only keep your fingers crossed and hope the driving school honor his words to teach you.

Cuba hidupkan L lama itu. Kiranya JPJ meminta anda kelurkan L baru, maka ikutilah kehendak pihak berkuasa.

2) If I were told to repeat all of the courses from beginning (KPP 5 hours class, Computer test), do I need to repeat another 3 hours amali and 10 hours practical once again?

Whether you can get a repeat test on 1/11 depends on your instructor. Should your undang-undang expire, not necessary for you to attend 5 hour KPP course. Sit only for the Highway Code test. The amali 3 hours course is also waived. 10 hours practical course is also unnecessary.

Lesen anda jenis B2 and D. Hendak membarui kedua-dua kelas sekali. Harga bayaran sama saja. Jadi tiada masalah.

Untuk tukarkan P ke CDL, lesen P yang hilang hendak terlebih dahuly di keluarkan Salinan P. Lepas itu, baru boleh tukar ke CDL.

The L usually last for 2 years. The undang-undang for the L license can last indefinitely. But has to be renewed from time to time.

Cikgu, I got a question which is very weird.
If i were already having L after taking the kursus but not completed to the level of QTI or P which means halfway stopped due to study oversea but now if I wanted to continue it but the L is expired. Do I need to re-take everything all over again? Usually do they charge full for only taking the P?

L lasts 3 months. Renew it. Undang-undang lasts 2 years. Borang 4 lasts 1 years. If all above are still valid, continue from where you left off.

I already went to L license 3hours theory class,then they said have anther 3hours for practical. I find the teacher and arrange time for the 3hours practical..then when on that day i suppose to have 3hours practical, the instructor said no time ,becoze the time not enough,he have to bring other student…then i said other day can, he say like that…he will help me to get L license silently without 3hours practical..he ask me to wait his call.
I blur…is that can without 3hours practical and thumbprint?
I havent get my sijil JPJL2B. What can i do now? I think i being treat unfair!

hello Mr Yap, i have gone to this driving institute at Perak on march 2010 and already obtained my L license for B2 and D. I did it there because I studied at Perak. However i have finished my studies, and returned back to selangor. i decided to continue with the class at my hometown and required to pay Rm 100 for this so called card( i dnt know the real name but they said required if we want to change place)) but i didnt since i already have paid RM 500 as (advance to the institute and i tot i could finished till JPJ test there). So i just ignored the institute and back to home with my L license only).
I have renew my L license 4 times since i used motorcycle to my new place of study.
now i am on 4 months break and planned to obtain my P license at selangor. Ive gone to this institute but they told me that they could prepared the card for me but i have to pay RM 60 for it.. So which one is true RM 100 or RM 60…
are all my information will be transfered to the selangor institute?
You have to get back all your previous document from Perak. You really have little choice but agree to their demands of RM100. As they have asked you to pay a sum of RM60 the 2nd time, seize the opportunity and pay them up.

Attend the 6 hours theory course at institutes to get your B Full license out. You’re exempted from the Highway Code test.

Should I terminate my current licence and start from scratch again? Because I lost contact with my former school. Thanks
Regulations require that all previous documents from previous driving school should be submitted to your new school. Unnecessary to restart all over. I suggest you see JPJ authorities to get their views.

I am a CDL holder for D class and currently having LDL for B class which I just got recently.
The problem is,when I ask about how much hours I got for practicing the bike,the person in charge said that I have only 3 hours whereas my friends said they got around 8 hours from their driving institute.
I also ask if I could add the hours but their reply is no.I`m really surprised by this turn of events as I am sure with just only 3 hours of practice,it is not enough for me to grab the PDL within my hands.
Can U explain to me what I should do in this case?
Most institutes give you 8 hours training. Should you feel the number of hours given isn’t enough, discuss with your instructor to increase it. Of course, you’ll have to pay slightly more.

I have a problem…. My Uncle help me to approve my L license without my consent.. After that he wanted me to give him RM300 he only give me the lisence.. Then I call JPJ , the stuff told me to go JPJ retake the copy… Now I do have one of the L license … Its the L license at his side is no longer valid?
As you have a duplicate copy of your L license, the first copy which your uncle is holding has become null and void. It’s no longer valid.
Cikgu Yap, just wanna know, i got my L license back in 2010 but due to studies, i didn’t pursue to take my P straight away. now that i’m on break, i wanna continue to get my P but i wanna do it with a different institute and not the one where i got my L. can i know whats the procedure? and do i need to bring any forms or renew anything?
To change institute, get the following documents from your previous instructor: L license, Borang SM4, your QTI form, renew L if its expired. Submit the forms to new instructor or institute.
oh but if my sm4 borang has expired, is it okay?
Your new instructor can prepared a new Borang 4.
hye….saya sedang belajar memandu…br 3 sesi sy belajar…ape yg memusykilkan saya adalah pada hari ke 2 saya belajar memandu tenaga pengajar menyuruh saya memandu dia atas jalan raya besar padahal saya masih lagi belom mahir di atas litar pun…dan pada hari ke 3 beliau mengajar saya menaiki bukit..saya dapati saya belum mahir dan dia memberitahu saya pada sesi keempat nanti beliau ingin mengajar saya 3 penjuru.adakah ini teknik mengajar yang betul…dan memarahi pelajar sepanjang pembelajaran adalh etika yang betul sedangkan pelajar itu masih belum mahir.
Walau apa pun, anda terpaksa bersabar dengan pengajar yang anda telah pilih. Setiap pengajar ada gayanya tersendiri.

Last week sy br habis bengkel selama enam jam utk lesen kompeten..semasa kpp,seorang penceramah nya mengatakan terdapat penambahan satu undang-undang baru jpj..kenderaan yang mengalami kemalangan sama ada yang melanggar atau yg d langgar,akan di kenakan saman atas kesalahan menyebabkan kesesakan lalu lintas..bagaimana harus mengelakkan sekiranya kita berada pada pihak yang d langgar daripada mendapat saman tersebut???…
Pada suatu ketika dulu, memang pihak polis berkuasa mendenda kedua-dua pihak yang terlibat dalam kemalangan. Saya tidak berapa pasti samada ia berkuatkuasa lagi sekarang.

Superbikes cannot be ridden in motorcycle lanes. They have to be ridden along highways. As far as I’m aware, superbikes are exempted from paying tolls. As such, toll collectors will open lanes gates for you. In certain toll areas, special lanes are provided for superbikes passage.

Have it changed at any JPJ state office in Sarawak. Normally, early change is not allowed. Make change with 1 year the P expires.

L boleh di guna di negari lain. Dapatkan keputusan ujian dulu, pengesahan daripada institut lama serta pengesahan dari JPJ negeri di mana telah uji. Memang agak sukar peraturan-peraturannya.

Hi, I was informed that currently PDRM does not allow L riders to ride on the road (since the inception of P licence) although JPJ allows such ride. Apparently there is a law about this already tabled at the parliment? Any comment?

Here my questions begin, How much for register L license course & test? It is we arrange our own time to attend the course or it been fixed by instructor on that day? I don’t even know how to ride motor. JPJ provided teaching how to sit, start engine, ride and all motor function?
I think that’s all for my question. I appreciate if you reply my comment. I surely need all the information from you expert driving teacher.

Unfortunately, the driver course rates for Penang is completely different from Selangor’s. Other arrangements is also different. I suggest you get assistance from a driving school based in Penang. Sorry, I’m unable to help you much.

Erm, saya dah pernah dulu buat lesen L untuk motor. kemudian tak teruskan sampai P disebabkan hal tertentu. sekarang saya dah ada lesen competen untuk kereta. kalau saya ambil lesen L untuk motor, smentara tempoh mendapat lesen L iaitu dalam seminggu, bolehkah saya menunggang motor?
Demi capai lesen memandu L, anda di kecualu Kod Undang-undang. Wajib hadir kelas teori motor 6 jam. Seterusnya, keluarkan L dan hadir membelajar memandu motor di sebuah institut. Sementara itu, anda boleh menggunakan motor.

I have D class license and want to take up B2. Your previous reply mentioned that we only need to attend the 6 hours theory class to obtain the L license before start practical lesson. My question are:
1. can i just take up the class from any driving academy or must it be specific;
2. can i just take the class without committing to any bundled lessons that they promote;
3. after above, will the academy issue the L license or do i apply myself with JPJ?

If you do not wish to be tied down to any driving school, register at a driving institute instead. After attending a 6 hour theory course for motor, get all documents and get a “L” yourself from JPJ.
Hey, I have a similar question to the above mentioned.
I have my full D license for 2 years already. If I want to take up my L license for B2, do I have to repeat everything? Eg. Undang test, and the theory class. Cause I remember reading somewhere that if your L license is more than 2 years, you need to repeat the whole process? Need some clarification that is confusing me.

memandangkan sekarang dah ada test untuk ujian memandu automatik, bolehkah saya terus daftar untuk ambil ujian jpj tanpa melalui institut mengajar memandu. saya dah ada lesen ‘L’ tetapi tempat belajar memandu tersebut tidak menyediakan service untuk ajar memandu auto
Saya tidak pasti samaada institut lain gunakan kenderaan auto. Ziarahilah institut yang berdekatan anda.

Lesen L i tidak boleh diperbaharui di pejabat pos. They asking me to go to JPJ center. Bahagian 1 ( 21/2/2010-20/2/2012) .
However, I dah lulus motor B2 on 16/2/2011. But the driving center still didnt give me my P license. I dah fail untuk lesen P kereta. Baru sekarang nak ulang semula. Mcam mana ye Cikgu Yap? PLESE HELP ME
saya ada permasalahan sikit. saya ada ambil ujian memandu pada Nov 2012 dan lesen L tamat pada 5/12. saya tidak mengulang semula ujian memandu sehingga sekarang kerana ada masalah peribadi. saya bercadang untuk mengulang semula, saya ada tanya tempat belajar memandu dan akan memperbaharui lesen tersebut sekiranya saya membayar RM 200 untuk ulangan dan harga lesen.

Kalau RM200 untuk membarui lesen L dan ujian semula, harganya agak berpatutan. Ya, nampaknya lesen L anda telah tamat. L berlangsung 3 bulan sahaja.
Tempoh lesen L : Bahagian 1 seperti di lesen saya telah tamat [23/10/2010 -22/10/2012] . Saya telah lulus ujian jalanraya dan cuma perlu mengulang ujian bukit. Saya tidak dapat mengulang berdasarkan tempoh berikutan saya terpaksa mengikuti pengajian.
Apakah yang boleh saya lakukan untuk memiliki lesen P?

If you have put “P” sticker for your car, then your “P” days for motorcycle are over.

Then , i did not realise that my L license had expire as i went back to continue with my studies . and now July i came back to take my test , then i realised that my license had expired . Will there be any complications ?
Ensure you renew your “L” license. Your institute should be able to advise if everything is in order for you to test again.

In L licence, what is meant by the date ( tempoh) ?
“Tempoh” The dates your L licence is valid. E.g. 20 Aug to 19 Nov 2019. On 19 Nov. Your licence expires.
